Yesterday, I had a lengthy conversation with one of my cousins. I had not spoken to her for quite some time, and I was really delighted to talk to her. This time around was such a pleasure as our conversation had a different text and tone, as she's since changed her life to serve God. Beautiful! I could see and hear the difference in her.
We chatted about all sorts of topics, from children, to work, money, husbands & marriage; and just life in general. Then, subject of living for God came up. It was unavoidable being that is who we profess to be. We talked about how our lives had changed and how we could really start to see what God was commanding from our lives. How the differences in how we used to lived were a stark contrast from how we are living today. Somehow, it wasn't until this conversation that I began to see all the more clearly what it meant. It's only when you you've been brought out of darkness that you can recognize the evils of sinful and riotous living.
Yes, of course, we still have much to learn and to do; yet, I'm learning even more to thank God all the more along the way. Oh, what a wonderful opportunity He has given us! It seems only natural that this scriptures comes to mind: I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. (Psalm 34:1)
Being thankful to God, and giving thanks seems like such a small gesture for all He's done for me. Still, I can be assured as I read the Word of God that He is worthy of all my praise!
Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with Psalms. For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods. (Psalm 95:2 -3)
Thanksgiving is truly a word that needs no further explanation.
